SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Two (2) Scholarships of up to $500.00 each will be awarded for the effective academic school year. Scholarships will be limited to $500.00 each unless only one (1) eligible applicant submits for the school year, at which time the executive board may request from the active membership to award one (1) $1000.00 scholarship. The number of individual scholarships and amounts awarded in any year will depend upon financial resources and budgetary constraints of the Union County Traffic Officers Association in each year, and are awarded solely at the discretion of the Association's Executive Board.
Applicants will be judged based on financial need, S.A.T. scores, senior class standing, and citizenship in their individual community. Applicants must be seeking education, but not limited to law enforcement, legal education, firefighter, or emergency management. The executive board will coordinate the processing of all applications for review and selection under a committee of active U.C.T.O.A. members appointed by the executive committee. The executive committee will ultimately approve the scholarship award(s).
Announcement of the awards will normally be made at our June Association meeting. The award will be made directly to the institution in the name of the receiving applicant before the beginning of the semester.
